Thames Gateway South Essex Partnership
Thames Gateway South Essex is part of the wider Thames Gateway, which includes North Kent and East London and has been identified as the UK Government’s top priority for regeneration and growth. Situated along a 43-mile stretch of the River Thames and with close links to London World City and the Continent, it is Europe’s largest brownfield site. Over the next three years an investment of £130m by the Government will be used to accelerate brownfield development, economic growth, environmental improvement and urban renewal . Thames Gateway South Essex presents a huge opportunity for 16,700 extra homes and 24,200 jobs by 2016, and is set to remain a regeneration priority for at least the next 20-30 years.
