Castle Point
Castle Point is unique in geographical terms, being comprised of two distinct areas, the mainland to the north, on which the major settlements of Hadleigh, South Benfleet, Thundersley and New Thundersley are located and Canvey Island to the south. The borough is serviced by three trunk roads. The A127 to the north, the A13 to the south and the A130 to the west. The borough is also 40 minutes from London (Fenchurch Street) by train.
Castle Point has four existing major industrial sites, with a new site of 50 acres on Canvey under development.
Two estates exist on the mainland, at Rayleigh Weir, which is located directly adjacent to the A127 and provides excellent connections to the M25, London and the City Airport, as well as to London Southend Airport only seven miles to the east. This is a modern, prominent estate that has developed both as a site for major retail warehouses as well as for smaller manufacturing industries. It can offer a wide range of unit sizes and easy access to facilities.
The most significant economic development exists at the western end of Canvey Island where 50 acres of land already has planning permission. The site will provide a good opportunity for new and existing companies with a range of unit sizes close to major access routes to the rest of the country and Europe.
