Braintree
The district is well located for strategic transport links. Braintree is at the centre of the district on the A120 with London Stansted Airport and the M11 just 15 miles to the west. Dualling of the A120 is currently under construction and the first section is open.
The district has a broadly based economy and although services are the largest employment sector, the district has a higher than average percentage of employees working in manufacturing industries. The district also has a relatively high level of self-employed businesses and the Council is encouraging this trend through business support and skills training.
Braintree district is a good place to do business in and businesses located here can benefit from a number of support services. Business Development Services (North West Essex) Ltd, as the name suggests is an umbrella organisation that aims to provide local business with all its support and development needs.
Braintree District Council’s Economic Development Unit can assist companies with their plans for growth within the district. This covers companies who are already resident in the district and want to expand current premises or find new premises.
