Basildon has also established itself as the centre of Automotive Research and Development in Essex with a large number of companies supplying high tech services to Ford Dunton Research plant.
Manufacturing plays an important part in Basildon’s economy and has, during the last 5 years, been transformed into a high tech and high skilled industry attracting multi national companies such as MSX and Visteon to establish large facilities in Basildon.
